British Eventing would like to congratulate BE Accredited and Under 18 Coach Sam York on becoming a Fellow of the British Horse Society (FBHS).
The Fellowship of the British Horse Society (BHS) is the highest qualification offered within the BHS and is rated as one of the highest coaching accreditation in the world. Since its launch in 1949, only 77 people have been awarded fellowship status. The Nottinghamshire based coach joins an elite group of equestrians to have received the honour, including both the former and current World Class Eventing Performance Managers, Yogi Breisner and Chris Bartle along with Olympic gold medal dressage rider Carl Hester MBE, to name but a few.
As well as being a senior lecturer at Nottingham Trent University, Sam holds her BHSI, UKCC Level 3 and is a British Eventing Accredited Coach along with producing and riding horses up to Advanced level.
Sam is just one example of the high standard of coaching on offer through British Eventing to youth riders through the 12-21 Training Programme. Split into regions, there’s a comprehensive programme of training for all levels of rider, as well as preparation training sessions for BE100u18 and the Nu18 classes. Additionally, the programme seeks to support those riders aiming to be selected for the BE Under 18 Regional Team Championships held each year at Frickley Park Horse Trials in July (27 – 30 July 2017).
