Lonely Obi Looking for the Wan

Obi Star Horse Mock PosterWhilst he may not actually be as skilled with a lightsaber as his namesake, Obi, is very much full of the force and is looking for a home where he can enjoy a quiet life and be a loyal best friend to both human and equine companions.

Standing at 16.3hh, this seven year old thoroughbred has just joined World Horse Welfare’s rehoming scheme at the charity’s Hall Farm Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Snetterton, Norfolk and is feeling very sad since his best friend, Freddie (aka Luke Skywalker) was rehomed.

This former rObi_beforeacehorse came to World Horse Welfare as part of a scheme with charity, Retraining of Racehorses to help vulnerable former racehorses through their rehabilitation and rehoming. Obi was signed over after his owner became unable to look after him anymore and he was not receiving the love and care he needed. Obi’s dedicated groom, Emma Sawyers, who leads on the RoR scheme says:

“Obi is a lovely horse with the sweetest temperament, he loves company and enjoys nothing more than a cuddle, plus lots of affection! He is very well mannered when handled but can be sensitive so would suit a quiet home where he can relax and enjoy being loved and cared for. Obi has had a difficult start to life and deserves nothing more than to find his forever home.”

Unfortunately Obi cannot be ridden due to intermittent lameness which occurred when he was in work, since his arrival he has been fully checked by the vet, farrier and physio to ensure he is pain-free and able to enjoy a slower pace of life.

An ideal companion he gets on with horses and ponies of all age, yet he would also enjoy going out and about in-hand with his new owner.Obi-and-Emma
