Mark Todd, being the eldest Olympian competing for New Zealand at 60 years old, is set for his 8th Olympic debut.
Mark Todd is one of five riders named in the New Zealand team for the Rio Games, he will be leading the New Zealand team, and riding alongside him will be, Jock Paget, Jonelle Price and Clarke Johnstone, with Tim Price being a strong reserve to back up the eventing team.
Mark Todd is a star in the equestrian world, winning individual gold medals at the Los Angeles (1984) and Seoul (1988) Olympics, while also winning an individual bronze in 1988, and team eventing bronze medals in Sydney (2000) and London (2012), leaving us all with high hopes for Todd in Rio.
Todd is thrilled to have been selected, and focused on delivering yet again a strong Olympic challenge for New Zealand.
Although it has been an incredibly difficult selection process in both Dressage and Eventing, the selection confirms that Andrew Nicholson has not been picked for the team after having a falling out with the Equestrian Sports New Zealand.
