In the Equissage Pulse Ridden Partbred Pony of the Year final at Horse of the Year Show spectators were treated to a superb spectacle of beautifully presented ponies. All the ponies completed an incident free ‘go round’ and the class was split into half for each competitor to do their individual ridden display and in hand section
With all the shows completed it was a nervous wait whist the marks were added and the final 11 were called forward. As tension mounted the winner of the Equissage Pulse Ridden Partbred Pony final was called forward and it was the 9 yr old 128cm Rotherwood Rainmaker, ridden by his 9yr old jockey India Till and owned by India’s parents, came forward to receive stunning winners rosette.
Purchased last year from Katy Cater, who had so much success with this pony when ridden by her daughter Poppy, Rainmaker is still produced by Katy for his new family. ‘Katy is just the best’ said a delighted India, who has been riding since she was just 2 years old. ‘He is a pony in a million, added Mrs Henrietta Till ‘and we would never have dreamed that we would win HOYS, but we couldn’t have done this without the help and support of Katy and Poppy. ’ Young India, who still has another year in first ridden classes, proved herself very cool under pressure and turned in a foot perfect performance on her pony.
Rainmaker was followed into second spot by Bankswood Jakaranda, a bay mare who was beautifully presented by Megan Brookes.

Team Equissage also provided a special award for the highest place home produced pony in the class. This was won by a delighted Phoebe Rocks and Greenbarrow Mr D’Arcy, another 9 yr old, who has been owned by the family for the last 3 years.
