Organisers of Nunney International Horse Trials, which take place near Frome in Somerset on June 16 to 18, are delighted to announce Tarmac as the principle sponsor of the CIC2* competition.
The event is staged in the spectacular grounds of the grade II listed Southfield House and since the inaugural competition in 2012, it has grown in stature, attracting many of the sport’s most well-known names. Hundreds of visitors flock to the venue to enjoy watching them in action, as well browsing the many tradestands and sampling food from an eclectic array of catering stands.
Organiser Bridget Parker said, “Nunney is a wonderful event that has become a firm favourite among competitors and spectators and we are delighted that Tarmac is supporting us by sponsoring the CIC2* class.
“We are looking forward to welcoming representatives of Tarmac to Nunney which has also become renowned for its hospitality during the three days of competition. Sponsorship at this level is vital for the growth of Nunney and our on going improvements to the structure of the event, from the cross country courses to the dressage arenas and we are thrilled that Tarmac are on board.”

The event’s ambassador and committee member Sam Griffiths, a former winner of the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials and Australian Olympic team member, said, “Nunney is a beautifully run event with a wonderful committee at the helm and it is fantastic that such a high caliber company is supporting the horse trials.”
Entry to the event is free on Friday and £12 per car on Saturday and Sunday.
The cross country for the CIC2* and intermediate classes is scheduled for Sunday starting at 10am, but there is action over the fixed fences on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with showjumping in the main arena in front of the house over all three days too.
