On Friday 18th November, Saint Felix School Equestrian Team member, 11 year old Jack Wilmot, attended a very special event ‘An evening with Sir Anthony McCoy’ held at Norwich City Football Club, Carrow Road.
After learning about the horrific life changing fall sustained by 30 year old old jockey Freddy Tylicki at Kempton racecourse Jack wanted to do something to help. With the blessing of the Injured Jockeys Fund and event organiser Delia’s Canary Catering, Jack and his mother, Kerry Wilmot, Head of Equestrian at Saint Felix School, organised a raffle to be held on the night.
Among the generous prizes were tickets to the 2017 Grand National, Visit to the Royal Studs, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast compliments of Adnams, and Breakfast with Oliver Sherwood to meet Grand National winner Many Clouds. The raffle raised an incredible £3310.
For Jack who dreams of one day becoming a jockey it was a very special night. Not only doing something for a fantastic cause he met his lifetime hero and spent time chatting about riding and football. Jack was involved throughout the evening selling tickets and drawing the raffle with Sir A. P.
All proceeds from the raffle are to go to The Freddy Tylicki Fund and cheque is to be presented to the Injured Jockeys Fund in Newmarket on behalf of Saint Felix School.
Saint Felix Equestrian would like to thank Sir A P McCoy, Emma Spencer, Delia’s Canary Catering, Banham Poultry and the raffle sponsors for supporting the event.
