Stubbing Court Training Ltd (SCT) is delighted to reveal a new addition to its acclaimed Masterclass series with top riders and trainers. On 7 November the great Irish show jumper Billy Twomey will give a Masterclass at Vale View Equestrian, Leicestershire exclusively for SCT apprentices and employers.
Billy, who recently won the prestigious Longines King George V Cup at Hickstead’s Royal International meeting, fully understands the advantages of apprenticeships.
His yard manager, Kerry Finch, was Chesterfield-based SCT’s first apprentice 20 years ago, and Kerry was formerly travelling groom for Michael Whitaker, one of SCT’s biggest supporters and one of the trainers in SCT’s successful Online Learning programme. Michael, one of the best-known show jumpers Britain has ever produced, gave Billy his big break in the sport by employing him as stable jockey.
SCT’s chief executive Belinda Turner said: “We really appreciate Billy’s support and involvement as a trainer for the SCT Masterclass series and as an employer. He is one of the leading riders in the world, and has the highest standards and attention to detail in horse and yard management.
“The Masterclass will provide a fantastic opportunity for apprentices and employers to receive training from Billy, and observe first hand his world-class coaching techniques.”
SCT is Britain’s leading provider of apprentices to the equestrian industry. It has excellent contacts and ensures that its apprentices receive the highest standards of training and support.
Apprenticeships are an outstanding way for young people to access employment in the equine world, as they gain valuable qualifications, learn in a practical, hands-on way and receive a wage while training.
SCT provides valuable support and training for its employers in crucial areas such as health and safety and employment law.
